The study analyses metafictionalpicturebooks´s didactic potential. The first part establishes the theoretical bases for the study by presenting categories to describe the different types of metafictional picturebooks in regard to the canonical history of this genre. The second part analyses the discussion carried out with Secondary School students about these books.
